Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Adult Day Surgery/PreOp position in Dallas, TX, requiring Meditech experience and IV start proficiency on a 13-week contract.
Details
- Adult Day Surgery unit located on the 2nd floor of a hospital setting
- Unit supports multiple areas including Day Surgery, Pre-Admit Testing (PAT), OR Holding, and Day Surgery IR
- 22-bed unit with a multidisciplinary team of 41 staff members
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for PreOp, PAT, and OR Holding; 3:1 for Post-Op
- Common procedures include general surgery, gynecology, and orthopedic scopes
- EMR system: Meditech (experience required)
- Equipment used includes IV pumps
- Day shift only, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM; unit is closed at night
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Floating between PreOp, Post-Op, and Pre-Admit Testing areas is required
- Must be available to work 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per schedule period
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in PreOp, Day Surgery, or PAT
- IV start proficiency required
- Meditech EMR experience required
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Experience with both adult and pediatric populations is ideal; adult experience is the next priority, followed by pediatric-only experience
- Pre-Admit Testing experience is preferred
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be considered
- Schedule is self-managed but the charge nurse may adjust assignments based on unit needs
- Must be willing to work during inclement weather
