Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position in Dallas, TX, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and an active TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Night shift position, 7P–7A in a 16-bed Surgical ICU (SICU)
- Surgical patient population with a strong oncology focus
- Estimated patient ratio of 1:2, with assignments based on acuity and skills
- Specialized equipment includes ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitor
- Bedside procedures include central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis cath placements, cardioversions, and intubations
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling is flexible and posted a month in advance
- Floating required on an as-needed basis
- Weekend and call requirements to be discussed during the interview
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license — temporary licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required for ICU RNs
- CCRN preferred
- Experience with CRRT and hypothermia protocol preferred
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- Must have a US SSN (Canadian SSNs are not accepted); SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Royal blue scrubs required for RNs
- Artificial nails, gel, and next-gen nails are not permitted
- Hair must be neat and pulled back if shoulder length or longer; no extreme styles or colors
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (including nose and tongue rings)
- Body art should be covered whenever possible
