Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position in Dallas, TX, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift position, 7P–7A in a 16-bed Surgical ICU (SICU)
• Surgical patient population with a strong oncology focus
• Estimated patient ratio of 1:2, with assignments based on acuity and skills
• Specialized equipment includes ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitor
• Bedside procedures include central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis cath placements, cardioversions, and intubations
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling is flexible and posted a month in advance
• Floating required on an as-needed basis
• Weekend and call requirements to be discussed during the interview
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license — temporary licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required for ICU RNs
• CCRN preferred
• Experience with CRRT and hypothermia protocol preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Must have a US SSN (Canadian SSNs are not accepted); SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Royal blue scrubs required for RNs
• Artificial nails, gel, and next-gen nails are not permitted
• Hair must be neat and pulled back if shoulder length or longer; no extreme styles or colors
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (including nose and tongue rings)
• Body art should be covered whenever possible
