Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level II Trauma Center within the Yale New Haven Health System, requiring Cath Lab experience and on-call availability for a 24/7 cardiac emergency lab.

Details

• Cath Lab unit located in a 426-bed short-term acute care hospital, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite houses two labs operating M–F, 7:00 AM–5:15 PM, with 24/7 availability for emergency cardiac procedures
• Adult patient population with diagnoses including Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease
• Procedures performed include diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations, stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, IVC filters, TEEs, Cardioversions, TAVRs, and MitraClips (in conjunction with hybrid OR)
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• On-call required: 6–9 days per month; M–F call hours are 5:15 PM–7:00 AM, weekend call is 24 hours per day
• Floating to the Milford Campus may be required as needed
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Level II Trauma Center facility
• Scrubs are provided for this role
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Cath Lab nursing experience required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible at the travel pay rate
• Flu vaccination is mandatory; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
• One professional reference required for consideration
• Candidates must not have any disciplinary actions or priors on their nursing license

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for a wide range of invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures in a high-acuity Cath Lab environment
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved by the facility
• Travelers are expected to participate in any natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility
