Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU/CCU travel position in Bowling Green, KY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• ICU/CCU setting within a main hospital building, 16-bed unit
• Patient ratio is typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Specialized equipment includes Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions
• EMR system: Meditech
• Monitor techs (MTs) are available on the unit; tech support is staffed depending on census
• Floating is required in rotation with core staff
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills and self-motivation are essential
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Scrubs required in any color; denim, capris, and camouflage are not permitted
• The unit is recognized for its collaborative, teamwork-oriented culture and offers scheduling flexibility
• Staff includes a mix of experience levels across day and night shifts
