Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU/CCU travel position in Bowling Green, KY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and active KY or compact RN license.
Details
- ICU/CCU setting within a main hospital building, 16-bed unit
- Patient ratio is typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- Specialized equipment includes Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions
- EMR system: Meditech
- Monitor techs (MTs) are available on the unit; tech support is staffed depending on census
- Floating is required in rotation with core staff
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills and self-motivation are essential
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Scrubs required in any color; denim, capris, and camouflage are not permitted
- The unit is recognized for its collaborative, teamwork-oriented culture and offers scheduling flexibility
- Staff includes a mix of experience levels across day and night shifts
