Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week contract at a Level IV Trauma Center in Kenosha, WI.

Details

  • Work in a Nuclear Medicine department at a 74-80 bed Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in Kenosha, WI
  • Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, and ED patients with cardiac, GI, pulmonary, and oncology cases, as well as PET and DAT scans
  • Daily patient volume ranges from 7-18 patients/day for cardiac and general NM work, staffed with 2-3 techs per day; PET supports 5 patient slots/day with 1 dedicated tech
  • 8-hour day shifts; NM start time varies between 6:30–8:00 AM, PET start time is 6:30 AM
  • Standard 40 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation is on-call only; one weekend on-call every 4th weekend (end of shift Friday through 6:00 AM Monday)
  • One weekday on-call shift per week from end of shift until 6:00 AM the following morning
  • One holiday on-call shift per contract
  • During the second half of the contract, float into PET scan rotation at a nearby Cancer Center approximately 0.8 miles away
  • Epic EMR experience preferred; GE 850, McKesson PACS, and Nuc Trak experience also preferred

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience, with most recent experience within the last year
  • Active NMTCB certification required
  • BLS required
  • Active license required if applicable
  • Experience with GE equipment (any model) and SPECT CT required
  • Proficiency in basic NM principles and practices, including cardiac, GI, pulmonary, oncology, PET, and DAT scan workflows
  • Ability to start IVs required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the past year, required for consideration
  • Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
  • Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply
  • Orientation consists of approximately 12 hours to learn department workflow
  • Supported by a Department Supervisor and other Nuclear Medicine Technologists
  • All time-off requests must be approved by the manager
  • Any color scrubs are acceptable
  • Free parking is available on site
