Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring Epic proficiency, prior neuro/stroke experience, and a VA or Compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Position is on the 6S Med/Surg Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Schedule is 3x12 or 4x12 hours per shift, with candidate preference noted at time of application
- Patient ratio is 1:7
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation is a core component of this role
- Neurology and stroke patient population
- Epic EMR — proficiency required, no exceptions
- Floating is required
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Holiday coverage required within the contract period
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- IV insertion skills required
- Telemetry interpretation experience required
- Prior experience working with neurology and/or stroke patients required
- Clean license and background — any prior hits will not be considered
- Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration

- This position is located in Chesapeake, VA — part of the "Coastal Virginia" region, minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of application
