Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ED Hold position requiring a CA RN license, travel experience, and a willingness to float to MS/Tele when not utilized in ED Holding.

Details

  • ED Hold unit within a hospital setting, with floating required to MS/Tele when not utilized in the ED Hold
  • Patient population includes a wide range of emergency and acute care cases across a combined adult and pediatric emergency department
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Performs clinical procedures including IV therapy, Foley catheter insertion, wound dressings, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and safe medication administration
  • Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (1900–0730) with a weekend rotation
  • No on-call requirement

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and PALS; TNCC preferred
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Proficiency in a broad range of ED skills including triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and emergency medications
  • Experience managing psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, psychiatric holds, and behavioral management
  • 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
  • 7-year work history verification required

Additional Information

  • Candidate must be willing and able to float to MS/Tele when not needed in ED Hold
  • Applies evidence-based practice and demonstrates knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and disease process management
  • Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition; acts as patient advocate
  • Local candidates are accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
  • Former employees may return without a required separation period; former manager's name will be needed as part of the application
  • RTO is capped at 7 days per contract
  • Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved per contract; covered holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (holidays run from 7:00 PM the night before through 7:00 AM the day after)

Cons

My phone showed her number as spam and I think blocked some of the texts I wish it hadn't have done that but that was nothing on her end all on mine so make sure that you have your settings to allow the calls and texts from spam
