Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Break/Float Pool position at a hospital in King City, CA, requiring a minimum of one year of acute care experience and current CA licensure.

Details

• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 13-week contract
• Provides break relief and supplemental staffing across the Emergency, Med/Surg/Swing Bed, and Skilled Nursing departments
• Patient population spans all age groups (0–120 years)
• May be directed to any department for which the nurse is trained and deemed competent

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered California RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (BLS must be from the American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience within the past 2 years
• At least 6 months of recent experience in an Emergency or Critical Care setting required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Additional Information

• Reports to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) and receives assignments through the Nurse House Supervisor
• Responsible for independently implementing the nursing process to deliver safe, age-appropriate, individualized patient care across assigned departments
• Must maintain required proof of competency for all departments in which care is provided
• Familiar with and adherent to Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs), including alarm management, patient restraints, infection prevention, two-step patient identification, medication labeling and calculation safety, and identifying safety and suicide risks
• Hospital orientation is paid in full
