Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of multi-specialty surgical experience, including robotics with the DaVinci XI, and an active IN or Compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting with 24 OR beds and an average census of 70-80 patients
- Specialties include General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection
- DaVinci XI University robotic system used
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30
- Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
- Cerner EMR — experience required
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility may be required
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license in hand (or fingerprint application package submitted) required
- BLS certification required — AHA and RQI formats accepted; must be current
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience, with all listed specialties performed within the last 3 years
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required
- Cerner charting experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- Proof of ACEN or CCNE accreditation required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates — local candidates are accepted for Surgical Services positions but at a different pay package
- Charge experience preferred; charge pay is available for qualified candidates
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Any permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month break in employment before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break
