Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience.

Details

• Works on a 39-bed combined Acute Stroke and Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Unit specializes in acute stroke patients, neurological disorders, and general acute medical patients
• Shift is a day/night rotation: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00 and 19:00–7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required include cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral IV care and management, respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable O2, non-invasive airway), and isolation precautions

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Unit practices an adjustable acuity care delivery model with an evidence-based approach to stroke care during primary prevention and acute care phases
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
• Scrub color: any combination of navy and white
