Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Neurosurgical unit position at a large academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry Acute Care experience with a neurology background.

Details

• Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
• 13-week contract
• Two-unit setting: the Brain Rescue Unit (BRU), a 12-bed Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Zayed 12W, a 14-bed acute care neurological and neurosurgical inpatient unit
• Adult patient population including spinal surgery, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, seizures, and other neurological/spinal conditions
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed per unit
• Availability call: 2 (12-hour) shifts per 6-week schedule
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry Acute Care experience required
• Prior experience with neurology patients required
• Experience in a large hospital (500+ beds) required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to stroke, neurology, and neurosurgical patients in an acute inpatient setting
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
