Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level IV Trauma Center in Kenosha, WI, requiring 2 years of ED experience and a critical care skill set.

- Emergency Department at a Level IV Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Accredited Chest Pain Center in Kenosha, WI
- 74-bed facility with a 21-bed ED plus a 6-bed annex
- Serves all age groups across a diverse emergency patient population
- RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on both day and night shifts
- Active Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) program with RN on-call 24/7 for applicable cases
- 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation of approximately 1 weekend per month
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- No floating requirements
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- IV pumps: Alaris | Med dispensing: Pyxis | Monitoring: GE Monitors
- Nursing station telemetry monitoring (no tele tech on unit)
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC or TNS, and CPI or MOAB
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Critical care-level skill set required
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, collected within the last year
- Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
Additional Information
- Supported by a charge nurse (with reduced patient assignment), 24/7 in-house hospitalist, 24/7 ED physician, 24/7 HUC, and phlebotomy assistance for peripheral blood draws
- Orientation consists of at least 1 shift to learn unit flow and processes
- Up to 7 days of time off may be approved during the contract
- Scrubs must be a solid color — no graphics, logos, or designs
- Free on-site parking available
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply
