Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level III Trauma Center in Farmington, NM, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, and OBGYN.

• Work setting is a 198-bed Level III Trauma Center featuring 10 OR suites serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
• Surgical specialties include Urology, Neuro, General, GYN, Podiatry, Plastic, Ortho, Dental, and ENT
• Diverse patient population spanning all age groups
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM) with occasional weekend shifts
• Variable call required, approximately 4–5 shifts per month
• EMR system is Cerner
• Equipment varies by OR service specialty

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Must be proficient across multiple surgical specialties: Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, and OBGYN
• Must be skilled in both basic/quick laparoscopic procedures and complex open abdominal and/or chest cavity trauma cases
• Must be comfortable supporting patients and surgeons in cases involving significant traumatic injuries, including anticipating instrumentation, supply, and equipment needs
• Must achieve at least a 3.2 overall rating on the skills checklist
• Area-specific competency exam and skills checklist required for consideration
