Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation (IRF) position in Louisville, KY, requiring at least 1–2 years of hospital experience and working weekend day shifts (Friday–Sunday).

Details

  • Inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital setting with 12–14 bed units on 1 South or 2B
  • Patient population is adults (18+) recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injuries such as hip and knee replacements
  • RN-to-patient ratio is 1:7
  • Day shift hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (every weekend)
  • On-site equipment includes EKG machine and bladder scanner
  • EMR: Cerner
  • No floating required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active KY or Compact RN license required, with no infractions on record
  • Current BLS certification required (AHA only); certification must not expire in the same month as the assignment start date
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required and must be active at time of consideration
  • Minimum ADN degree required
  • 1–2 years of recent hospital RN experience required
  • Rehab experience preferred
  • US Social Security Number required; no Canadian SSN accepted
  • Full COVID and flu vaccination required — no exceptions

Additional Information

  • Provide acute inpatient rehabilitation nursing care to adults recovering from stroke, neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and orthopedic procedures
  • Critical thinking skills are highly valued for this role
  • CPI training is required for all RNs and may be completed onsite
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
  • Gaps in work history of 3 months or more will require an explanation
