Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a hospital-based Operating Room position requiring at least 4 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties, including Neurology, Transplant, and Orthopedics.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room (OR) setting serving a high-acuity, multi-specialty surgical patient population
- Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (11:00–23:00)
- Weekend schedule is variable and will be discussed during the interview
- On-call requirements are variable and will be discussed during the interview
- Floating required within facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 4 years of OR experience prior to traveling
- Experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics is required
- All required certifications must be current and in hand
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
- RTO is capped at 7 days total; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- Holiday RTO blackout dates apply: 11/23–11/29 and 12/21–1/3
- Holiday coverage policy: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work at least 2 and may request 1 holiday off for review
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted — the listed shift is firm
- Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
- Candidates undergo a clinical review process to determine fit prior to manager consideration
