Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring PACU or Pre/Post Op background, night shift availability, and comfort floating to pediatric PACU.

Details

• PACU setting within a large hospital supporting all major surgical services across 34 ORs on two floors
• Pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care provided to both adult and pediatric populations
• First floor includes 6 ORs, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and prep/recovery for CT/MRI with high pediatric volume
• Second floor includes 28 ORs servicing Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab cases
• Specialized procedures include regional anesthesia and ECT
• Equipment used includes Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• 2–3 weekends required per contract
• Floating to pediatric PACU required as needed

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing experience strongly preferred; Critical Care Post-Op experience is a plus
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provide pre-op and Phase I and Phase II recovery care to patients of all ages across multiple surgical specialties
• In the event of an emergency, travelers may be assigned to an Emergency Team and expected to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team; candidates uncomfortable with this expectation should not apply
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be discussed during the interview process
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
