Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in New Orleans, LA, requiring PACU or Pre/Post Op background and Epic EMR experience.
Details
- Large-volume PACU department supporting all major surgical services across 34 ORs on 2 floors, including Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, Pulmonary Lab, CT/MRI, and Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy
- Nurses provide pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care for both adult and pediatric populations
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Floating to pediatric PACU required as needed
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2–3 weekends required per contract
- Special procedures include regional anesthesia and ECT
- Equipment used includes Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active Louisiana RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all must be AHA-issued
- PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience caring for both adult and pediatric surgical/procedural patients
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
- RTO requests must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
- By accepting a position with this health system, candidates acknowledge they may be assigned to an emergency team during declared emergency events and will be expected to remain at the facility or serve on a relief team until the event passes
- Candidates who are not comfortable with emergency event obligations should not apply for this role
