Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level II Trauma facility in West Virginia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a Level II Trauma designation
• Operating Room unit with 11 total rooms: 8 OR suites and 3 Endoscopy suites, averaging approximately 65 cases per day
• Wide variety of surgical cases including vascular, general, orthopedic, neuro, eyes, and ENT — open heart cases are excluded
• Da Vinci Robot is in active use; experience with this system is a strong plus
• Equipment includes Baxter pumps and Philips and Dynomap monitors
• Cross-training to Endoscopy is expected
• Epic EMR is used in this position
• Schedule is 12-hour day shifts with weekends as scheduled
• On-call rotation includes one weeknight call (7p–7a) every 4 weeks and one weekend call shift (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, up to 24 hours) per 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Experience across all areas of the OR required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• No prescreen interview required for this OR position; candidates will interview directly with the unit manager
• Two supervisor and peer references required — if the candidate worked a permanent position in the last 12 months, one reference must be from that permanent employer
• Skills checklist completed within the past year is required
• Copies of all certifications and a valid driver's license must be provided for consideration
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
