Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and TNCC certification.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department with 12 beds
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratio is 4:1
- Night shift team consists of 5–6 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11:00 PM–11:00 AM), and 1 unit secretary (5:00 PM–1:00 AM, Mon–Fri)
- Typical procedures include STEMI, Stroke/TPA, and RSI
- Strong neuro and cardiac skills are preferred
- Fast-paced, high-energy unit environment
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, CPI (or accepted equivalent such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA), and ENPC or PALS
- NIH Stroke Certification required for ED RNs
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Scrub color preference is royal blue, though not strictly required; no competitor emblems permitted
- The unit holds recognition for a 12-minute door-to-needle TPA time and the fastest bed-assigned-to-patient-in-bed time in the Gulf Coast Division
- All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
