Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of acute hospital OR experience and robotics/Da Vinci proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Surgery department (OR) of a 16-room, 417-bed acute care hospital
  • Team includes Director, Charge RNs, OR RNs, surgeons, anesthesiologists, CNAs, and LPNs across 13 teams
  • Patient ratios include 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 depending on case
  • Uses sterile accessories, circulator equipment, sponges, gowning, gloving, tubing, and cords
  • Documentation via Meditech
  • Day shift structure includes 15 RNs and 15 techs per team
  • Night shift coverage is largely on-call based, with staff starting around 9:30 PM depending on volume
  • Shift hours run from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Floating to the general OR unit is required

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an acute hospital OR setting (surgical center experience not accepted)
  • Strong ortho, neuro, and robotics experience required
  • Robotics/Da Vinci experience and scrubbing proficiency required
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
  • Two professional references required for Florida placements

Additional Information

  • Prepare the operating room and arrange equipment prior to procedures
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures
  • Inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment while keeping inventory records
  • Perform pre- and post-surgical duties including prepping, transporting patients, and applying dressings
  • Facility recently completed $90 million in upgrades including a new patient tower and parking garage
  • Facility is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and American Heart Gold Plus Achievement Award recipient
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted

I worked in the Respiratory department. The Respiratory manager Alex was a fantastic woman. She does all the on boarding education and she’s your number one person to call for any clinical information scheduling information. She was fantastic.
