Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for an outpatient radiology setting in Morristown, NJ, requiring 1-3 years of MRI experience and active NJ licensure.

Details

• Outpatient radiology setting
• Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 11:00 AM–9:00 PM; Saturday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
• No on-call required
• Epic used for charting
• May float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
• Graduate of an accredited radiology program
• Active NJ State RT license required if applicable
• MR certification required
• Current BLS certification
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel

Additional Information

• Position patients and apply appropriate coils (e.g., head, knee) per radiologist-requested protocols
• Enter patient history, anatomical scan data, orientation, and aperture positioning into the MRI computer system
• Program scan sequences and adjust transmitter/receiver settings via keyboard commands
• Monitor patient safety and comfort through the control room window and closed-circuit TV during examinations
• Review images on video display to ensure image quality and photograph images as needed
• Educate patients on communication procedures during the examination
• Enforce magnet room safety by alerting staff to hazards of metal near the magnet
• Travelers who have been on assignment at this facility for one year must take a 30–60 day break before returning
