Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool position in Hawaii, floating across medical and surgical units, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license required.
Details
- Flex Pool RN role floating between multiple units including a Medical Unit (77 beds), a Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and a Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
- Patient population includes adult medical and step-down surgical patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: Medical 1:6 (days/evenings) or 1:8 (nights), Surgical Acute 1:6, Cardiovascular 1:4
- 12-hour day shifts, 06:45–19:15, scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
- Floating between units is a core expectation of this role
- Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
Requirements
- Active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
- Experience with medical-surgical and step-down adult patient populations
- Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of proof
Additional Information
- Orientation is provided for each unit before independent practice begins
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to their start date; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
- Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
- Floating may occasionally include the Cardiovascular Unit
