Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a high-volume hospital in Louisville, KY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and night shift availability.

Details

• 44-bed private room Emergency Department treating 160+ patients daily
• Manages medical, trauma, cardiac, stroke, and psychiatric cases
• Designated STEMI Center and Primary Stroke Center
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in KY or a compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required; 4 years preferred
• Experience in a large-volume hospital required — candidates with only rural or critical access hospital backgrounds will not be considered
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, individualized care planning, patient and family education, and coordinating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
• Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors the accuracy of care provided by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation audits
