Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Espanola, NM, requiring a minimum of two years in a large OR setting and at least one prior completed travel assignment.
Details
- Operating Room (OR) unit in a hospital setting
- 10-hour day shifts starting at 6:30 AM, four days per week, 40 hours per week
- Candidate must be able to scrub
- Epic EMR used on-site; experience preferred but not required — on-site training available
- Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular experience is a plus
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
Requirements
- Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State required
- BLS required (must be issued by American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
- ACLS and PALS preferred (if obtained, must be from an approved issuer: AHA, AHAS, or ARC)
- Minimum 2 years of current experience in a large OR setting required
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
- ADN or ASN degree required
- Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
- Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents per policy
- Assumes clinical supervision responsibilities for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
