Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Espanola, NM, requiring a minimum of two years in a large OR setting and at least one prior completed travel assignment.

Details

• Operating Room (OR) unit in a hospital setting
• 10-hour day shifts starting at 6:30 AM, four days per week, 40 hours per week
• Candidate must be able to scrub
• Epic EMR used on-site; experience preferred but not required — on-site training available
• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular experience is a plus
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State required
• BLS required (must be issued by American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
• ACLS and PALS preferred (if obtained, must be from an approved issuer: AHA, AHAS, or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in a large OR setting required
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• ADN or ASN degree required
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents per policy
• Assumes clinical supervision responsibilities for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
