Description
American Traveler is hiring a General and Vascular Ultrasonographer with a minimum of 3 years of experience and active ARDMS(AB) certification for a 13-week travel assignment in Maine.
Details
- General and vascular ultrasound department within a regional medical center
- Modalities include general abdominal/OB/small parts ultrasound and vascular studies
- On-call emergency coverage is required as needed by the department
- Day shift schedule
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of ultrasound technologist experience
- Active ARDMS (AB) certification required
- BLS/BCLS required
- Graduate of an ARDMS-accredited sonography program
- Active Maine state license required if applicable
- Associate degree preferred
- Ability to work in high-stress situations and demonstrate grayscale discrimination
Additional Information
- Perform routine and specialized diagnostic general ultrasound examinations, including assisted interventional procedures such as biopsies and intraoperative ultrasound
- Correlate clinical history with sonographic findings and consult with referring physicians and radiology leadership as needed
- Responsible for scheduling ultrasound exams and procedures using IT/IS systems, coordinating with central scheduling for accurate patient throughput
- Maintain EMR documentation, process orders and charges, and ensure accuracy of physician orders and medical diagnoses for all appointments
- Evaluate image quality, monitor equipment performance, and report any equipment issues
- Expected to contribute to student learning and support educational experiences within the department
- Supportive, team-oriented work environment within a diagnostic imaging department
