Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in cardiac, neuro, and vascular scrub procedures for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level I Trauma Center.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 8 cath lab rooms and 1 procedure room in a Cardiac Cath Lab unit
- Level I Trauma Center
- Procedures include left/right heart caths, PCI (Rotablator, shockwave), pericardiocentesis, IABP/Impella insertion and removal, peripheral vascular, PFO/ASD closure, EP device implants/removals (pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders), and EP ablations
- Scrub tech responsibilities cover cardiac angiograms/interventions, neuro angiograms/interventions, vascular endograft/peripheral vascular angiograms/interventions, and pacemaker/device cases
- Structural heart procedures (Watchman, Mitraclip, TAVI) based on candidate experience
- EMR: Epic; additional systems include Cupid and GE MAC Lab/Cardio Lab
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
- Call rotation every 3rd to 4th weekend, plus 1 night of call per week; call team consists of 4 clinicians
- No floating to other units or departments
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience as a CVT or Rad Tech
- RCIS, RCES, or ARRT (R) certification required
- Current BLS (AHA) required
- EP and neuro scrub experience required due to working in those areas
- Proficiency with coronary stent interventions required
- If certified through ARRT, must obtain an ND Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) license prior to start
- If certified through CCI, a North Dakota Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist license is required for imaging activities (panning and fluoroscopy activation)
- Proficiency in sterile technique required
- Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles including positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection
- Two current professional references required: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Active certifications and license required at time of consideration; no pending certifications accepted
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Orientation is 1–2 days with an assigned mentor; program is tailored to the candidate's level of experience
- Ceil blue scrubs are provided by the facility
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must disclose it; prior Sanford Health employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a reduced pay rate
- Badging in and out at the facility is required
