Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Float Pool position covering ICU, ED, and Med/Surg units across two campuses, requiring prior travel experience and proficiency in advanced critical care procedures.
Details
- Float pool role covering three units: ICU, ED, and Med/Surg, with floating between the main campus and a sister facility approximately 15 minutes away based on unit need
- Acute care hospital setting
- ICU patient ratio is 1:2; ratios vary depending on the unit assigned
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Charting is done in MediTech Expanse
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or valid Compact RN license required; pending compact license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and TNCC
- Experience with paracentesis/thoracentesis, intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of ventilated patients
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Candidate must be fully comfortable floating between ICU, ED, and Med/Surg units as needed
Additional Information
- Schedule is entirely driven by unit need — candidate will not be assigned exclusively to one specialty
- Rapid response team is composed of members from each department
- Flu shot required during flu season (October 1 – March 31)
- Scrub color is employee preference
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, no more than 10 days total, and no full calendar weeks of RTO will be approved
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
