Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Surgical ICU position requiring Epic experience and a valid LA or compact RN license.
Details
- High-acuity Surgical ICU (SICU) setting within a large hospital system
- Patient population includes general post-op surgical recovery, CVICU patients (post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection), and transplant recovery (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Floating required to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs)
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Preferred experience with pulmonary artery (PA) catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)
- Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) utilized in this role
Requirements
- Active Louisiana RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in a high-acuity ICU setting required
- Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Block scheduling requests are not accepted
- RTO requests must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process; undisclosed RTO may result in a rescinded offer
- In the event of a declared emergency, the unit manager may assign travelers to an Emergency Team, requiring them to remain at the facility until the event passes or to participate as part of a relief team
- By accepting a position, candidates acknowledge and agree to report as assigned by their unit manager during emergency events
- Candidates who are not comfortable with emergency team obligations should not apply for this role
