Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring charge experience and an active NY RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in a high-volume Med/Surg Tele unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Complex care unit serving medicine, orthopedic overflow, and complex long-term patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7; experience with a 1:6 ratio is required
• Shift: Day/Night rotation, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00)
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Charting via Epic (required)
• Skills utilized include: MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, Rapid Response/Code team participation, pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), feeding tube care, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, phlebotomy, peripheral IV care, heparin protocols, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Active BLS and NIHSS certifications required; valid NIHSS must be submitted for consideration
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
