Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and charge nurse experience.

Details

• High-volume Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Complex care unit serving medicine, orthopedic overflow, and complex long-term patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7, with experience managing a 1:6 ratio required
• Shift schedule: Day/Night rotation, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00)
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Skills utilized include: MS/Tele monitoring, telemetry, Rapid Response/Code team activation, temporary and permanent pacemaker care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, phlebotomy, peripheral IV insertion, heparin protocols, orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement care, surgical drain management, HFNC, tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; valid NIHSS must be submitted for consideration
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience managing a patient ratio of 1:6 required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
