Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a Level I Trauma, academic medical center with 1,000+ beds, requiring ARDMS/RDCS or RCS credentials and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Large short-term acute care hospital, Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,000+ beds
- Role requires floating between multiple outpatient and campus locations across the greater New Haven area as needed
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
- 40 hours per week including rotating Saturdays; start times may vary slightly by location
- Charting via Epic
- No on-call required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer experience required
- ARDMS, RDCS, or RCS credential required
- Prior experience in a large trauma center or academic medical center setting required
- BLS required
- Epic experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions considered
- License required if applicable — pending state license accepted, but must be active prior to start date
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform echocardiography studies across multiple facility locations within the greater New Haven area
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color: Caribbean blue top, black pants
- Parking is available at an additional monthly cost
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position type
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; no RTO will be approved for summer coverage — requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
- Travelers may be expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility
