Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Neuro/Ortho/Peds) travel position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, requiring 2+ years of adult nursing experience and an active MI RN license.
Details
- Work on a 24-bed inpatient Med/Surg floor specializing in Neuro, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics at a 225-bed Level II Trauma hospital
- Patient population includes all ages over 28 days, with a mix of adult neuro/ortho trauma and post-operative cases plus a general pediatric component (typically 0–3 pediatric rooms)
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 3 weekends required every 6 weeks
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to other inpatient units
- EMR is Paragon (transitioning to Cerner)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of adult Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current AHA PALS certification preferred
- ADN or higher required
- 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

- Hospital offers a broad range of specialty services including a Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Pediatrics, and more
- Teamwork and collaboration are key attributes for success in this role
- Galaxy blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
