Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a 13-week day shift contract in a fast-paced, 29-bed Emergency Department, requiring AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications.

• 29-bed Emergency Department serving patients across all age groups, including emergent and non-emergent presentations
• High-acuity, fast-paced clinical setting requiring rapid decision-making and multitasking
• Day shift schedule: 07:00–19:30
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Indiana or a compact state currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Required certifications (all must be AHA): BLS, ACLS, PALS
• TNCC required (renewed every 4 years)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) training required — 8-hour course, renewed every 2 years
• Full Social Security Number and full date of birth required for consideration
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive triage and patient assessments per department protocols
• Manage emergency nursing interventions for critically ill and injured patients, including trauma resuscitations and cardiac emergencies
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments; monitor and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, EMS, respiratory therapy, lab, radiology, and ancillary staff
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental education activities
• Local candidates are eligible but may be subject to a reduced pay rate depending on proximity to the facility
