Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Observation Unit (Chest Pain/Critical Decision) position in Marquette, MI, requiring at least 1 year of med/surg experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 10-bed Observation Unit focused on chest pain and critical decision patients
- Adult-only patient population (18+ years of age)
- Approximate patient ratio of 1:5 (no defined ratios)
- Common diagnoses include chest pain, asthma exacerbation, TIA, abdominal pain, urinary issues, blood sugar issues, DVT/PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and minor trauma
- Cardiac monitor equipment used in the unit
- Charting via Cerner EMR
- Floating required to Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro-Ortho units
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- No on-call or mandated call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale Competency and Telemetry/ECG Competency required
- TNCC and ENPC are optional but preferred
- Minimum 1 year of med/surg experience required
- Telemetry experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay
Additional Information
- Unit is supervised by the ED Director
- Orientation is held bi-weekly
- Scrubs must be galaxy blue
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed full time elsewhere
- The facility is a 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level 2 Trauma designation, located in Marquette, MI on Michigan's Upper Peninsula
