Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma OR position in Miami, FL, requiring Level 1 trauma experience and the ability to circulate across multiple surgical specialties on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Hospital-based Trauma Operating Room setting with 18 OR suites and 2 minor procedure rooms
- Trauma OR unit supported by orderlies, anesthesia techs, and unit secretaries in accordance with AORN staffing recommendations
- Patient population includes trauma, general, orthopedic, neuro, and vascular surgical cases
- Typical procedures include total joint replacements, robotic gynecologic oncology, and craniotomy procedures
- 1:1 patient ratio
- EMR system: Meditech (experience required)
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Alternating weekends required
- On-call assignments required as part of a 24-hour trauma service
Requirements
- Active FL RN license or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience with trauma, or 1 year at a large institution with Level 1 trauma experience
- Level 1 trauma center experience required
- Ability to circulate trauma, general, orthopedic, neuro, and vascular procedures required
- Meditech EMR experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Two professional references required (Florida requirement)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- This facility is recognized as a top performer in robotic surgery in South Florida and features an exceptional Burn and Trauma Center
- Surgical scrubs are provided by the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
- 13-week contract

I worked in the Respiratory department. The Respiratory manager Alex was a fantastic woman. She does all the on boarding education and she’s your number one person to call for any clinical information scheduling information. She was fantastic.
