Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult Day Surgery/Pre-Op position in Dallas, TX, requiring Meditech experience and at least 1 year of PreOp, Day Surgery, or PAT experience.
Details
- Located in the Adult Day Surgery unit on the 2nd floor of Building A/Children's Tower
- 22-bed unit supporting Day Surgery, Pre-Admit Testing (PAT), OR Holding, and Day Surgery IR
- Procedures include general surgery, gynecology, and orthopedic scopes
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for PreOp, PAT, and OR Holding; 3:1 for Post-Op recovery
- Uses Meditech EMR and IV pumps
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Must work a minimum of 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per schedule period
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Floating within PreOp, Post-Op, and Pre-Admit Testing areas
- Unit is closed at night
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in PreOp, Day Surgery, or a closely related perioperative specialty
- Meditech EMR experience required
- IV start proficiency required
- Both adult and pediatric perioperative experience is ideal; adult-only experience will be considered
- SSN (US only) and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Pre-Admit Testing (PAT) experience is preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Team-oriented, flexible, and personable candidates are the best fit for this unit
- Must be available to work during inclement weather
