Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Epic proficiency, AHA-issued certifications, and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- 2 on-call shifts per 6-week scheduling period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation to be onsite within one hour
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
- Every other weekend shift required
- Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
- No floating requirements for this position
- Epic EMR experience is required
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temp license accepted
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications (all AHA-issued): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum ASN degree required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
- TNCC highly preferred
Additional Information
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and continuously modify individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Execute nursing interventions and procedures specific to emergency department practice
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation to support the full care team
- Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to safety standards and reporting or correcting hazards
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, staff, visitors, and families to foster a positive care environment
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the 13-week contract
