Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications with Phase I and Phase II recovery experience.

Details

PACU unit within a 471-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital
Patient population includes post-operative cases across multiple specialties: general, endoscopic/laparoscopic, orthopedic, ortho/spine, and ortho/total joints
Phase I and Phase II recovery experience utilized in this role
Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (12:00–22:30)
On-call requirement of 4 shifts per month, including 2 weekend call shifts and 2 weeknight call shifts
Charting performed in Epic (experience preferred)

Requirements

Active NY RN license required
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Minimum 1 year of PACU nursing experience
Phlebotomy competency and IV placement skills required
Experience with Epic EMR preferred

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Scrubs are provided in teal
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
Any time off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
