Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric and adult critical care experience for a night shift Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics position at a Magnet, teaching, Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with Magnet, teaching, and Level 1 Trauma designations
- Respiratory and Neuro Diagnostics unit serving both pediatric and adult critical care patient populations
- Clinical experience areas include ER and Adult ICU settings
- Procedures and therapies include airway management, vent management, medication administration, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Equipment used includes Servo I and Hamilton G5 ventilators
- O2 saturation monitoring for polysomnography/sleep studies
- Epic EMR; experience required, with additional training completed during orientation
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
- Every third weekend required
- No on-call required
- No floating required

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, including pediatric and adult critical care
- ER and Adult ICU setting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Active Michigan state license required by start date; compact licenses are not accepted in MI
- License required if applicable
- BCLS (AHA), ACLS, and CRTT required
- Proof of high school level education required regardless of secondary education attained
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory and neuro diagnostic care to pediatric and adult critical care patients
- Pre-start modules are required and vary by specialty
- Burgundy/wine scrubs required
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- RTO must be submitted at the time of profile; a maximum of 5 days RTO is permitted per assignment
- Former core staff or facility employees must wait 12 months before returning and should be verified through HR prior to consideration
