Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring telemetry monitoring experience and an active HI RN license.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in a hospital setting, with 15 beds (3 Step-Down ICU and 12 telemetry)
  • Patient ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
  • Primary procedures include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
  • Equipment used includes Meditech (EMR), Pyxis medication dispensing, BiPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
  • Varied shift schedule, 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required to all acute in-house units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
  • 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license for the State of Hawaii required by start of assignment
  • Current certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
  • Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provides primary nursing care including telemetry monitoring, strip reading, and glucose monitoring
  • Travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday Employee Health appointment
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Scrubs required as the dress code
