Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring telemetry monitoring experience and an active HI RN license.

Details

Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in a hospital setting, with 15 beds (3 Step-Down ICU and 12 telemetry)
Patient ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
Primary procedures include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
Equipment used includes Meditech (EMR), Pyxis medication dispensing, BiPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
Varied shift schedule, 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
No on-call responsibilities
Floating required to all acute in-house units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
13-week assignment

Requirements

Active RN license for the State of Hawaii required by start of assignment
Current certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS preferred
Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

Provides primary nursing care including telemetry monitoring, strip reading, and glucose monitoring
Travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday Employee Health appointment
COVID-19 vaccination required
Scrubs required as the dress code
