Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background for a 13-week night shift contract at an inpatient hospital in Urbana, IL.
Details
- Inpatient hospital respiratory care department
- Provides respiratory care services across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Includes coverage in the Emergency Room as well as inpatient units
- Performs blood gas analysis including arterial, venous, and capillary samples
- Performs ventilator patient assessments and manages respiratory equipment
- Uses Epic EMR for charting and care plan documentation
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend schedule (3 weekends in a 6-week cycle)
- Holiday rotation required for major holidays
- No on-call or floating requirements
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Illinois RCP license required (license required if applicable)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
- Evaluate patients for routine respiratory care therapy on inpatient units and in the Emergency Room
- Complete assessments on ventilator patients and all other patients receiving respiratory care services
- Accurately document on respiratory flow sheets, care plans, and charge in Epic EMR
- Recommend timely interventions and the need for further treatment or referral within the patient's respiratory care regimen
- Assist with cleaning respiratory care equipment and stocking respiratory supplies on inpatient units
- RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
