Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a night shift inpatient position at a Level 1 Trauma facility, requiring Epic EMR experience and competency across all age groups from neonatal to geriatric.
Details
- Inpatient respiratory care department at a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Patient population spans all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
- Respiratory care services provided on inpatient units and in the Emergency Department
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- No on-call required
- Weekend rotation: approximately every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week cycle)
- Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
- No floating required
- Epic EMR used; experience required
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required; license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Proficiency in care plan evaluation, blood gas analysis (arterial, venous, and capillary), equipment preparation and maintenance, and sleep therapy documentation
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
- Complete patient assessments for ventilator and non-ventilator patients and recommend timely interventions or referrals
- Accurately document in the EMR, including respiratory flow sheets, care plans, and charges
- Record sleep therapy documentation and relay compliance information to the physician in writing
- Prepare, test, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment; report malfunctions to management
- Assist with stocking respiratory care supplies on inpatient units
- RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any of its locations
