Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an LDRP unit in Elko, NV, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and proficiency in fetal monitoring, cesarean section, and postpartum couplet care.
Details
- Work setting is an LDRP unit (Women's Services) within a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Elko, NV
- 15-bed unit consisting of 6 L&D beds and 9 postpartum beds
- Patient population includes adults and newborns; specialty areas include Labor & Delivery, Recovery, OB Triage, Postpartum, and Nursery (Level 1)
- Postpartum couplet care and Level 1 nursery environment
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN Standards
- Common diagnoses and treatments include antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, cesarean section, inductions, and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia
- Equipment includes Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter Pumps, Masimo Monitors, and GE Centricity Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring
- EHR: Centricity/MEDHOST
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other departments possible based on patient census and departmental needs
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required
- Active AHA certifications required: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Required skills: SVD (no VBAC), cesarean section, OB triage, nonstress testing, postpartum care, nursery and newborn care procedures, hemorrhage management, fetal monitoring and interventions, and management of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia/hypertensive crisis
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Active licensure verification (Nursys) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive LDRP nursing care including labor and delivery, recovery, triage, postpartum couplet care, and Level 1 nursery support
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- Weekly orientations are available
- Professional scrubs required; street clothes are not acceptable attire
- Ideal candidate is knowledgeable, flexible, a team player, and hardworking
