Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week evening shift contract in a high-volume hospital CT department requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARRT-CT certification.
Details
- Work in a hospital-based CT department with 5 scanners
- Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, and ER patients, with occasional pediatric patients (primarily teenagers, approximately 2-3 per month)
- Procedures include general anatomy, calcium scoring, coronary studies, stroke alert, CTA perfusion studies, chest/abdomen/pelvis/head imaging, biopsies, and drains
- 1:1 patient ratio
- GE Revolution and Evo scanners are used (experience preferred)
- Charting performed in Epic
- 4x10 hour evening (2nd shift) shifts, 40 hours per week
- No weekend rotation and no on-call requirement
- Holiday coverage required when a holiday falls on a scheduled workday
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting
- Current BLS and ARRT-CT certification required
- Active state license required, if applicable
- Experience with the full range of CT procedures listed, including procedural cases such as biopsies and drains
- Experience with GE CT equipment preferred
- 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year required for consideration
- Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius rule applies
- Orientation consists of 3 shifts to learn department flow
- Support on the unit includes other CT techs, Radiology RNs, an RRT/Code Blue team, and centralized transport
- Per facility fatigue policy, travelers may not work more than 60 hours in a week
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable — camouflage and denim are not permitted
- Free parking is available on-site
