Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level II trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and an active NM or Compact RN license.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit in a 198-bed, Level II trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
• 43-bed Medical Unit (CC1001) caring for adult patients 18 years of age and older
• Common diagnoses include cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, and CHF
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 7P–7A (19:00–07:00)
• 36-hour work week
• All staff are expected to work at least 2 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required per facility needs
• EMR: Cerner
• Equipment includes VS machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, and tube feeding pumps

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• ADN or higher required
• Med/Surg experience preferred
• Skills checklist with an overall rating of at least 3.2 required for consideration

Additional Information

• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
• Oncology skills are helpful but not required
• The facility is a Level II trauma center; due to its regional location, Trauma Level I, II, and III cases are flown in
• The hospital offers a broad range of services including oncology, nephrology, pediatrics, inpatient behavioral health, a childbirth center, and a day surgery center
• An area-specific competency exam and screening questions are required for consideration
• 13-week contract
