Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a Level I Trauma Center position at a large academic medical center, requiring at least 1.5 years of ED experience and TNCC certification.
Details
- Large short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds in an academic medical center setting
- Emergency Department assignment with potential cross-training and rotation to other campuses and ED observation units
- Level I Trauma Center environment
- Average patient ratio of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Block scheduling accommodations available upon request
Requirements
- Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
- Minimum 1.5 years of ED experience from a comparable hospital setting; 2 years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Experience at a large trauma center or academic medical center required
- No prior disciplinary history on nursing license
Additional Information
- Travelers are assigned to one primary campus but may rotate to other ED campuses and ED observation units
- Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
- Weekend call-out policy is in effect: missed weekend shifts must be made up within the following 6-week scheduling period
- RTO up to 7 days may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval
- Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
