Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience with Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic case experience.

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room of a hospital environment
  • Unit service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN & Orthopedics
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 11:00-23:00
  • 16-week assignment length
  • Weekend requirements are variable and discussed during interview
  • Call requirements are variable and discussed during interview
  • Floating required within facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of submission
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
  • Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic surgical procedures
  • Specific surgical skills required include hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, D&C, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, ALIF, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, Whipple, arthroscopy, closed/open reduction of fractures, and total joint replacement
  • Transplant experience required including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas cases
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties
  • Clinical screening required to determine fit prior to manager review
  • Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance results in a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO or schedule change requests permitted after offer or onsite
  • No holiday RTO approved if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment
  • One holiday RTO may be considered if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • Black-out dates for RTO are 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
  • Previous Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were cancelled or DNR'd must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
  • Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests
