Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of acute care experience for a hospital-based PT position focused on high-acuity geriatric patients within a regional referral center.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a regional referral center
- Unit focuses on general medicine floors with a primarily geriatric patient population
- High-acuity cases common due to the regional referral nature of the facility
- Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30, occasionally 8:30–17:00)
- 5 days per week, with approximately 4 weekend shifts per month; specific weekend schedule discussed during interview
- May float to other general medicine floors within the hospital
- 12-week contract
Requirements
- Current PT license for the state of Louisiana required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
- Acute care hospital experience required
- Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
- Candidates may be assigned to an emergency response team by their unit manager in the event of an emergency, with an expectation to remain on-site or serve as part of a relief team until the event has passed
- Applying for this role indicates acceptance of potential emergency team assignments as directed by the unit manager
