Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility position requiring at least 1 year of skilled nursing experience and 13 weeks of Epic experience.
Details
- Work in a free-standing 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital
- Rehab Nursing IRF unit serving adults with high acuity needs including stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Uses mobility equipment including ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, and slide boards
- Uses vital sign machines, EKG machines, and blood glucose monitors
- Charts in EPIC EMR
- 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- On-call responsibilities required
- No floating currently required, though floating to a satellite IRF facility within 20 minutes may be required in the future
Requirements
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or another 24/7 skilled care environment required
- Minimum 13 weeks of recent EPIC EMR experience required
- Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience related to patient acuity preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Active license verification via Nursys required at time of consideration
- Copies of required certifications must be provided
Additional Information
- high high acuity needs, functioning similarly to a medical-surgical unit
- All nurses are expected to assist CNAs and respond to call lights to support patient safety
- Facility is accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF for Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty Programs
- Mandatory 30-minute unpaid break each shift unless otherwise approved by a supervisor
- Two paid 15-minute breaks provided during each 12-hour shift
- Staff are not permitted to stay past shift end time without house supervisor approval
- Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full time
