Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a night shift contract position in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring ARRT certification and an Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program.
Details
- CT Scan department in a hospital setting
- 4x10 hour night shifts, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program, or military training graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program as validated by active ARRT certification
- ARRT registered or registry eligible
- Current BLS certification
- Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy license required if applicable
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles, scanning protocols, image acquisition, and post-processing techniques
- 2 years of experience as a Rad Tech in diagnostic radiology preferred
- Prior hospital or medical imaging facility CT Technologist experience preferred
- Additional ARRT CT certification or equivalent preferred
- Must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform CT scans using established protocols, adjusting parameters such as slice thickness, exposure settings, and contrast administration to optimize image quality
- Review images for quality and perform post-processing techniques including windowing, reconstruction, and multiplanar reformatting
- Verify patient identity, medical history, and physician orders prior to imaging
- Monitor patients during scanning procedures and respond to any adverse reactions or complications
- Assist radiologists and physicians with image interpretation and technical documentation
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles to minimize exposure to patients and staff
- Perform daily equipment checks and quality control tests; collaborate with biomedical and service teams on maintenance needs
- Participate in staff orientation, student education for Radiologic Technology Programs, and quality assurance initiatives
- Support colleagues with guidance on CT imaging techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety practices
